newbie to this spl thing BIG newbie

i want to get into spl and do it right . my last system consisted of a jl 10' w7 in the vented h.o box and a 500/1 and it did not statifiy my needs for bass at all . so i finally bit the bullet and getting rid of it like a alot of people said ishould of did in the first place. i was hitting 135db on a term lab but i want to be able to compete in small shows so i want to hit the mid 140s . . i have been talking and thinking i am going to get 2 RE xxx 12 inch subs but the daliema i am having i do not know what amp i should get to run them .. i was looking at the new hinfonics amp it is 2000 watts rms at 1 ohm .. but i do not know anything about hinfonics quailty , realistly i am lost come to this stuff any suggestions on the amp or things i can do for spl would help lol ..

The Hifonics amp should be good for what you want. I wouldn't get the XXX though. They are more of a SQ sub. (yes, they CAN get loud, but there are better choices out there for the money)

If you want to stick with RE then I'd suggest a pair of SX 12's for that kind of power.

Where are you located? We can see if anyone is local and might be able to help you build a box.

i think i got this tooken care off now . i will be goign with 2 re sxs and i am getting a good box built by fellow member.

Talking just woundering

Hey Neon Sinz just woundering by your name the care you are useing is it a neon cause if thats what you got have a box already made to fit a neon it's and spl box useinf RE SX 10" hit a 151.8 and that was with the sub injured and voltage issues so have yet seen what it can do and its 100% finished internal work I'm in the Kitchener area let me know if it intrests you

I would go for the 10's and grab the box from MTA Neon.... trust me IT'S a LOUD BOX + SUB combo!!! you cant go wrong... the more power you put to it the louder it gets! last tested was 151.8 with about 4500-4800 watts goin to the pair of RE SX 10's
amps used were Mmats 3000.1d's

There are other options too

Just make sure this setup will also sound good if you're daily driving it.
