Nobody needs capacitors apparently...

According to this thread, even a 20 farad capacitor doesn't hold enough energy to be useful in a car audio setup...

...so it begs the question... What IS?

i think caps are , i hooked one up and it seemed to be quiteer

A capacitor will help take load off the Alternator. Which is exacly what a Capacitor is is used for to hold electrons. It's like a battery except it works in completly different ways.

I don't understand why people think they are totally useless. If people don't feel like upgrading there wiring they can always use a cap...

You obviously didn't read the article. A cap can only hold enough power for a fraction of a second.

Charge up a cap and hook your amp up directly to it alone, blast the music and post back with how long it powered it.

So you'd say good battery is the number 1 in the chain?

What about alternator? Or adding a second battery?

if you gonna add a second battery you better makesure your first one is good as well, otherwise you are not fixing anything and just increasing the alternator load.

Ther're not suppose to help out amazingly. It help'd my friends car headlights from dimming so it obviously does something.
