motor size and nature, targeted user group, level in manufacturers lineup. its one of those grey areas where a particular sub should be looked at and a determination made.

what i look at in addition to above is:

how many and how large are the motor slugs
is the sub custom built
does it have multiple stiff or a combination of spiders
power handling
manufacturers reputation

If im unsure on the subs nature i ask senior judges on the matter as i did with the tf one, ab hd, aq hdc3.

a sub doesnt have to meet every one of these things, if it meets a majority its no good.

amps are clamped when wattage is in question at 1x and all runs at multi point shows. The wattage rule is a combination of clamping and rated power.

Don that's kinda stereotyping dontcha think? I actually spoke to Nick yesterday. I really don't think that is him. And anyways who cares if his name is nick, pierre or dick, just answer the questions like a good little judge. lol

Don't get me wrong, I know this class isn't for me, I can just see where everyone is coming from. Power I understand but sub.... come-on... it's suppose to be a class for new people coming into the sport. With their new "competition" subs or not, if they don't have the power yet to compete in the bigger classes, they shouldn't be kicked into a class they don't have a chance at because of the type of sub they run. # of subs, cone area, power limits, thats understandable, but type of sub? That's not a good way to get new people into competing IMO.
True. I guess we'll need Yuli to perform some tests

stereotyping would be calling him a frog, or assuming he cant speak english because he's listed as being from montreal. Dont patronize me.
