Orion

So I just picked up an Orion HCCA 12.2 sub. I know nothing about Orion but the price was good and you can't have too many subs right? Anyone know about these subs? Any good for Street A or should i dump it asap?

I am running one in a 1cubic foot box sealed with an orion 1200d on it right now and it sounds great for sq as far as sound competing with it I dont think its that kind of sub. I want to build a ported box and run it off my orion 2500d and see what it does but I am too lazy lol

I just ran a HCCA 12" in the 3X last week... I had it running off of a Soundstream XXX6500. That Effing thing took Every thing that I could through at it. We had it Burping for 15-20 min non stop and all that happened was that we got it a little hot.

I pulled a 146.1 with it in a Ext Cab Full Size Truck.

My opinion of that sub is vary high... I am wanting to put 7k+ to that sub and see what it can do. If there is anything that I can help you with Please just let me know.

you may want to add that you are not just using your stock electrical and just one battery and one run of power wire also, you have juiced up everything to get a number that high thats not just your everyday sub and amp combo

to the OP if you dump that sub pm me I may buy it off you

The biggest box that I would recommend is 2.5 cubes no more... We tried a 2.75 Cubes foot box and the score went down. I would say 2-2.5 cubes max.

you're right, my electrical is upgraded, but in street A you need it trying to squeeze as much power out of a small battery
and btw, i daily drive the sub and amp, just turned WAY down lol

I am not sure how that sub will sound tuned down low.... On trempac the score is not bad at all.. For a spl woofer.. But on the other hand it has a paper cone and a foam surround.. So how could it really sound that bad.
