I'm looking at about 64.33 ft/s... or 19.61 m/s... This should be good for the back of a van? Daily ground pounder?

I didn't know you could measure the speed, don't you start at 16sqin then build a bunch of boxes slightly different from eachother to know which is the best? What's the best l x w slot ratio?

the best ratio is 2 to 1.

Port velocity takes EVERYTHING into account... Port area, internal Vb, sub parameters, port length (tuning), ect. Now does port velocity affect your number at the end of the day... likely, but I don't have a TL to test that part yet.

It most certainly does. This combined with proper tuning can be a serious gain for anyone. To add to this, 9/10 times, more port area will gain, but this is at the same tuning frequency. Excursion of the speaker combined well with the velocity of the port can gain substantially (xmax + PROPER port area = more spl). So with this said if you can find the area/velocity where xmax is reached, the woofer would displace more pressure from the enclosure.
