so u guys think about 1000 watts is the tops that can go through 80 amp fuse?
If it's a class D I'd say you can probably get closer to 1500.

So if im reading this right with an 80 amp fuse one could get into the 3000+ watt range!

200% of 80 = 240

14.4 x 240 = 3456 watts

doesnt look too much like a newbie class

realisticly with voltage drop u normally would not be able to pass more than 1000watts through an 80amp fuse. i remember having difficutly running 2 dei 1100d's at 2 ohm (700 watts) on a 150amp circut breaker. it would pop constantly when playing music.

lets say YOU MIGHT be able to pull that 3000 watts through an 80amp fuse, but even then goin by the posted stats that can be done for 20 seconds.....so then your fuse goes and u loose.

I did some tests like this a few years back in tech class for audio amp design..and it was kinda cool... we were able to draw (on average) 3x the current for the rating for aprox 2-5 seconds REALISTICALY... to compensate for PEAK power out puts... cause we all know that peak power does use more current than a continuous output...but the test was to ensure that if the amplifier was overloaded for only a short period of time the fuses would blow before the circuitry has a chance to fry up... thats why you will also notice 1000-1100 watt amps usually only have a 80 or 90 amp fuse on them ..but the draw is higher
