I would be interested in trying an event.... as a complete novice. Which store and when ? I don't know much about rules but will there be rules and where will those be listed ?

The show will be held at the FS in South Keys.

I'll be stopping there tonight to try and get some details from Jamie (sweaty palms)

Since I have a bit of experience with SPL competitions and have a few contacts I'll be doing what I can to help them out.

Please show up to support the show. Even if the classes are completely unfair. If they get enough support they might be encouraged to hold another show. Then with the feedback at each show it would continue to improve.

Anyways... keep an eye on these forums for details.

More than anything I'll need to know a date & time. Even if I didn't compete I would show up out of interest. I'm not overly concerned about classification etc as I would do it purely for the fun of it. If anything I would want to ensure that I am within the "rules" so I wouldn't get disqualified.

I'll be using a single Kicker 15L7 and could probably do with a little assistance with how to run through the whole process. I built a ported box according to Kicker's specs (went with the largest design 6 cubic ft ?) which is simply massive. Some people have said going smaller is better for SPL. I don't know, I never used it. I built the box last summer and we were busy enough I did not have time to ever enter a comp.

Sounds good. I'm sure we can make you competitive in whatever class you are placed in. I'll also be sure to help you with details on the whole competition process.

You'll be nice and addicted REAL quick

It would be great to see you at a show in Ottawa.

With a bit of luck we may have another reason for you to come down too

The reason why Futureshop stopped the House of Boom is because they only had the 3 year warranty instead of the extended 6 year warranty.
