Hello,

Is there an advantage of invert mounted subs when it comes to spl?

would it be any better or louder?

Inverted is worse, because it adds volume to the box, and everybody knows that smaller boxes are louder.

So build a smaller box to compensate for the difference?

inverted is minimum of 2db louder but the problem with it is that if you mount inverted people can't see the brand of woofer you are using so noone has done it out of respect for their sponsers who give them large amounts of cash to run their product

i think the main reason people dont try inverted is because the basket/motor will be infront of the a-pillar or above the window line.

Theoretically it should work better as you dont have the basket/motor disrupting the wave from the cone inside the enclosure

not a good theory dude..... a speaker makes two waves "back<front.

So how would you stop the rear wave from being obstructed? perhaps eliminate the motor all together?
