man i think that my alt is going out lol i lose a full volt when i crank . 13.94 to 12.88volts

frequency dial? are you talkin about the xover?

for spl you should either turn the xover off or open it up all the way.

danyman 07-29-2008 02:53 PM

ya xover lol. but if its for daily bass you dont turn it off ??? sounds like when i bring it all the way down. and all the way up i start having voices and still sounds like crap

to make it sound right do i need to put my LPF on the deck to full pass or 50, 80 or 120. then on the amp i have 2 dials to play with for tuning i have sub sonic witch i have no clue what it does from 10hz to 50 i think. then the LPF from 10hz to 300hz

and my box is retuned to 30ish hz

danyman 07-29-2008 03:01 PM

bass eq is also off

http://ampguts.realmofexcursion.com/DD_SS1/outside2.jpg theres a pic to give an idea of what im looking at

The gain has to do with your output voltage on your deck. Your LPF will only play notes UP to what you set it to (ex.70hz). Your subsonic will allow you to play notes DOWN to what you set it to (ex.30hz). Your bass eq or boost allows you to adjust the db level of bass from your amp. Do not touch your phase it is fine @0, that is if they are in different enclosures and youre subs are not quite moving at the same time. Youre gain is where you have to be careful. Turn your deck volume up 75% gain at the lowest first, then start to turn the gain up until you hear distortion, then back then dial down a bit. If you are that worried you can contact me and i can help you out, i am in sudbury.

thanks well so far i know how to set the gain lol but i dont get distortion when i bring it up. it just seems like my voltage drops to low or something and the bass stops till i bring it a tad down. and well so far my LPF is set to around 65hz and subsonic to 20hz. witch sounds quite nice right now and loud enough to make my pennies jump around lol. if i show up over ill try to find you. i got a gray grand caravan with back plate from kapuskasing lol. ( your the one that has the brownish cavalier right??? or sunfire)

LOWTONEZ 07-29-2008 05:19 PM

Not quite brown...lol Its canyon red, silver, and multi flake cavalier.
