I have been reading a bit about this topic, some people use this others use that.

whats the big difference?
and how do i design a box with an SPL port?

i dunno thats y i am asking.

i'm only able to muster out a 140.8 with what i have, i think i should be a fair bit louder.

2 10L7s on 1000 watts a piece ported.

i want to be louder

Typically an SPL port will be larger & shorter than a regular port.

Larger to let more air through, shorter for higher tuning. [img]graemlins/thumb.gif[/img]

Well for a daily driving port you will want to tune it fairly low, like 35hz-38hz. Get a program like WinISD and it will help you design a box.

For an spl port, there really is no magic answer. The general rule of thumb is "make it big and test" [img]graemlins/thumb.gif[/img]

sometimes a really tiny ox with a big long port helps too [img]smile.gif[/img]
depends on the vehicle that u are using...WinISD is cool and FREE!
