Approximately 194dB is the maximum pressure you can achieve with a sound wave. Above that, they behave as shock waves.

But you can only use subs with 2.5'' coils.

2.5" coils do help that is why all the loudest subs use them.

oh no way.
if a 2.5 owns a 4 inch coil.
then a 2 inch coil would just kill everyone around the car.

the highest SS 1-2NW score ever in canada I believe was a gent named Trevor in a Yellow Ford Ranger built by one of the instructors at Mobile Dynamics Matt. It hit a certified 162db at the finals in 2002 and I believe went as high as 167 uncertified in 2003. I havent herd from Matt in years so kinda out of the loop on the truck I dont think they compete any more tho.

161.4 @ 2002 finals for 6th place

A guy named Tom Adams from Ontario did certified 163.2 that year aswell.

Those scores are on the old mic though not the new sensor.
