Street Class Changes
I was reading the termpro forums and came across the thread that outlines the problems with street class. Anyone have any thoughts on it? The ONLY change id like to see is a trunk class, only problem is i cant propose it since they made it a members only forum and my membership is expired heh.

i think you have a great idea to separate the trunk cars against the other vehicles used in the street class. But as for trunk cars they would have to make 3 new classes and i don't see that happening as all sanctions usually cram all the cars together with the same rules set out for each class. I don't see it ever being enforced just to accommodate those vehicles.

I like the idea that competitors with vast available products having a class of their own, instead of a guy with a grand in equipment competing against someone who buys a stetsom 7kd or ddz1 and 2 APXX and fifty runs of wire. Wayne wants to have more generalization in street classes and i think its a change for good and i definetly would also like to see a trunk class. Its comes down to companies involved in it. A company like phoenix gold or power acoustik, does not want to involve themselves within the circuit because no one is using their products in these circuits which in turn can help with product sales and promotion. Of course DD or maxxsonics or AB or RE is huge, its what everyone uses, but the fact is 10 % of all the audio out there consists of higher brands so that means 90% is still out there. that is a huge growth in population that can really make it so much more bigger then it is. If this happens all i can say is... its about time.

are you gonna go pend $10,000 on the kicker 10k watt amp or will you spend $3,000 and get a pair of American Bass 5k watt amps? Which one is a better buy? will u go and buy some Alpine Type R subs for $400 each or will you go and get some Atomic APX for $400 each? which one will hold up and perform better?
u take almost ANY big brand and you will see that their 'competition equipment' is either garbage or costs stupid amount of money. all these companies put themselves into this situation.
people need to move away from crying and bitching how street class gear is not main stream gear and is not widely known. this is the stupidest complaint/excuse ever. Just think about it, even if street class is somehow limited to 1000 watts smart people wont run out and buy $700 JL Audio 1000 watt amps LOL. And JL's sales will not sky rocket all of a sudden - all the smart people will go and buy something like crossfire, memphis, american bass, DD, etc 1000 watt amps simply because it will still be cheaper and perform better.
those who already have the JL amps will catch on and end up selling them off for something better, stronger and more durrable like one of the brands i mentioned. and then we are back to where we started - with no one using main stream brands.
what they really need is a smaller class.

well put yuli, i agree completely with your statement. and i fall into wat u were talking about, i payed 450 a woofer for my fusion 15's that i kept blowing up, then had an 18 built, from a non mainstream company for a hundred more then wat i payed per woofer for the fusions.
its all going that way, if you want to go above and beyond mainstream and have better equipment that will last longer, out preform, and basically put to shame many if not all mainstream equipment, you have to pay less, most of the time.
so whos really gonna go out and buy(if they know of both worlds) a 1000 dollar 1000 watt amp when they can get a 2-300 dollar 1000 watt amp?
it just dosnt happen, it will bring in new competitors by bringing down the amp size, and will somewhat boost sales initially to the mainstream competitors, but as soon as everyone gets together and the newcomers find out about the other side of things, everyones gonna be selling therew stuff and buying the non mainstream gear, just as yuli said.
just like the internet world finals, im sure it will work, but for how long?...no one can tell yet.
thats just my 2 cents.

they will probalby introduce some noob class with fuses, which will be silly.
i doubt street format will go away or change at all. maybe a name change to pro street or something.
if a change does happen in the actual street class it wont last long, main stream brands will get pushed out again and people will bitch again that its too expensive or too competative. a company will come out with something that will work with the new rules and tears will spill once more - remember 2004 ?
