What would be a louder setup in street A, 1 12" or 2 10" subs and why?

2 10s, more cone area. One 12 can be louder, all depending on the install, though.

All things being equal.. meaning both installs have a good box and the appropriate power... 2 x 10" will be louder than 1 12"

2 -10's of you have lots of room to play with... but a single 12 can be just as loud, consider the little bit of phasing with 2 drivers... you could be louder with one 12 with good power to it... but mostly depends on the setup

i broke 150 last year with just a single 12

I'm just waiting for some subs now Peter. I'll call you and let u know.
I just wanted to hear from peoples experiences and what they noticed.
Also would 2 10's need to have a bigger box than a 12?

Yes, 2 10's would need a bigger box.

Don't get me wrong. You can be competitive with 1 12". I competed all last season with a single 12" Inhuman and did fairly well.

But realistically. 2 10's are better for street A.

Thanx for the advice JordyO, I'll take that into consideration when deciding on subs.
Guess the only way to see is trial and error.
