Subs inverted vs. Inside the box

Ok, I've been thinking about this one for a while now and was wondering what type of input anyone can give on this as this is something I would like to try.
What would be the pros and cons of the subs being inverted as opposed to being mounted inside the box and, is there a possibility of one's spl score being louder. I'd like to hear what the vet splers think about this as I know that they may have thought about it as well.

Maybe a little bit less of an unobstructed wave and a tiny bit of mechanical sound but that's it.

but you would need to change the volume though just to compensate for the magnet not being there right? Keep it coming folks. If I get enough feedback then I will be more tempted to try it.

Do IT! I tried with my finals box about 4 years ago, and it actually made no change in spl! I didn't change volume size either.. It was oviously over the window line then to, so I didn't keep it that way! haha

Good luck!

well from my understanding. the box volume what have to change. and maybe the port only cuz the cone area has a large surface and less obstetrical like the magnet and basket. however i got no clue what im talking about lolol. Just try it out and see what happens.

if its satuday can I come? hahaha

although I'm tempted to ask if the bulk of your score comes from the cones moving air on the outside of the box or from the port. if its the latter then logically would be less obstruction inside the box, no? clearly I, like Menace, have no idea what I'm talking about, I didn't know how loading made a difference until earlier this year.

Makes no difference in Spl. If it does, the box tuning is wrong. Thats what happened with mine at the Barrie show, gained 0.7db inverting the sub
Therefor needed a bigger box or longer port

DJ I tryed it in the Acura few years back single 12" and once box size was adjusted for volume it made no difference in SPL.
