Subwoofer Specifications Database

This suggestion may be too much work to do, but I like the principle behind it.

Could we make a subwoofer spec. data base & Place it in the technical questions section?

There have been a number of people who have requested specs on their woofers, and don't know where to find them. Once the specs have been found, they can be added to the database for future reference.

Personally, I have the specs of over a dozen woofers that I have owned, and probably about 50 others that I considered buying in my winISD data base. If we all share the information that we have in a continually growing database, in a few years we could have pretty comprehensive database.

I just don't know how to establish a database like that which would be easy to access and update - a forum style obviously wouldn't work - there would be too much information.

What do you think mods? Is it doable?

Maybe a system like the one at Overclockers.com CPU Database might be a good direction to go in for this type of database.

subwoofer database

published specs are off up to 50% in certain cases for instance what if manfacturer A makes an update to the line mid year ??
and what if it has a recone ?
what about company's like dd that do not publish specs

your best bet is to test them your self

look here http://www.woofertester.com/ i bought one it works like champ and is super accurate it takes 5 min to get full specs and works from subs to tweeters
it will help you guys that make custom x overs too by giving exact specs

never believe a published spec and never build a box to they spec the company provides they are just a guideline and much better performance can be had with custom

just my .02$

the wt3 is a cheap knockoffof the woofer tester made by smith and larson
when parts express wouldn't pay them for their product

the wt2 is far superior in quality and results
