So is somebody going to say "Ohhhhh SNAP" and slap down some evidence here or we have to find out for ourselves and mumble at each event for the next year ...

Two different points here to who did what ... I'm just waiting for someone to finally go "Oh okay, you're right"

Honestly, I think the help is here already ...

You want to be loud ... but music loud isn't necessarily SPL loud ... actually, when it comes down to it, it isn't ...
Many who like their music loud and banging just so happen to put up high SPL numbers (what else are they going to put up, clean installs? Yeah right ...)

Try a different box, amplify what you've got ...
If you really want, get a better made, more powerful subwoofer that can handle the additional power ... in theory, you'll be louder.

But you gotta read some of these threads and google "SPL" just a few more times, because most of these guys compete off one note ...
Not off an entire musical orchestra in their car, which is what YOU want (I think).

There are alot of factors missing Ramon...
what car, what color? Any duct tape holding stuff down? etc...
lol jk..
But seriously need a car and such, and find someone with a mic, and find out for yourself.

you can also use the square derivative of the tangent function formula to figure out your spl with out a meter. it's really easy to do, that's how most guys do it.

I have been looking around all night about how the test is done but havent found much about the way spl is tested in car trunks. I have figured out two ways, one which uses a sound meter or something and another I am not too sure about is hooking up a microphone to u r sound card and then using special software. I was just wondering how high of an spl would break window of the car.

thanks
