naw you will be surprised, just make sure the port is huge..or it will not have the affect you want, needs to push a ton of air into the front of the car.

How huge are you talkin?.... like how many sq. inches of port face per ft3 of net box space? I know DD recommends like 14-16 or something, but is that enough?

learn something about SPL before you give stupid answers to others! you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about!

tuned to 40 Hz its gonna be hard to be loud for SPL... but will be rally loud for listening... my guess is that your doors flex like crazy when you play muzic that hits low

Well, I happen to drive a trunk car and use it for SPL, and this is excactly the results I got. Rear seat removed, I got 4.X less dB while firing sub and port front than I got while firing it toward the back or the side. Firing it front with trunk baffled was a full 2dB louder than any other position. This was using a very large rectangular port too. Switiching to a smaller, flared rectangular port gave another 2dB.

big box firing frontward with large port = 132dB
smaller box with smaller flared port firing frontward, with trunk scealed from the cabin = 143.5dB
