What are your thoughts on Stetsom amps?
If you have experience with them post here.

LOL am I not correct in saying that the twins ran stetsom?? they seem to do pretty damn good with them

It would depend on the class you're running with them and the model you're using.
See, the problem is that they make too many different versions of each amp. They have the 16v V7KD, 12v V7KD and now there is apparently the 12v Turbo V7KD. On top of that each of those comes in a version that is optimised for either a 1 Ohm or 2 Ohm load. My team got our hands on a few last season and at first there were nothing but problems because they were always going in to protect. It turns out we had the 2 Ohm version and thought we had the 1 Ohm, so we were pushing them too hard. Once we got it figured out we did a bit more playing and still had crap numbers. After more investigating the next problem was that we had the 16v version that we were trying to run on 12v systems. So yeah... that's a lot of talk just to say "good amps but make sure you're using the right version" :smilie_da |

You forgot the 4ohm version too Jordy. Stetsom makes a very flexably amp for all kind of different installs, one of the only companys who do this i believe. |
Ya I think they do what I did for subwoofer building when I was building subs :). Everything is custom.

just an update. A team has 3 in his SS 5+ vehical and getting good power out of them. We also have 1 in a street set up and doing good with it as well (16 volt version)
|
I have also since used the amps in both 12 application and 18 volt application and I have got an easy 10kwrms out of the amp on a .5 ohm reactive load. Now I am supposed to be receiving the 7K2D's so we can see how much more they can do dB wise and actual power output.
