I hate to go against you but with the limited equipment I have testes over the years, I have seen some subs do better hot, and some do better cold.

My old mach5 spl12 (you should know this sub really well) I always managed my best numbers when it was about to burn up. the dustcap would be so hot sometimes it hurt to touch it.

With the Aq's I now run, they like to be cool. Once they start to warm my scores start to drop.

did you try turning up the volume without fuses?

also a lower note.

Everything I do to my car from adding power to deadening, my freq keeps going up.

I'll try it again next summer when things warm up again. The one thing I never tested was voltage drop. I'll do a before and after test which will tell the truth if they do make a difference.

When your voice coils warms up it expands. When it expands it lessens the space in the gap between your coil/motor. My best guess is this expanding helped your woofers increase in BL, which led to a higher spl score..

Back onto topic more...

Maybe every 2-4 weeks we could have a skype confreence meeting between slper's? At least during prime time spl season we can be bouncing idea's, designs, and testing's between each other... It would definatly help out alot of people who are at a plateau..

I think it would also help out the forum(s) alot by doing intereactive skype. Instead of jjust rambling and beif, the topics posted online could be filled with more informative testings, theories, Q's & A's.

What if we had it somewhat scheduled:

1st 30 mins:
Is for all Rookie/newbie help, with basic designs, layouts, equipment ratings, reviews, vehicles, installations, etc.

Next 30mins:
Maybe discuss shows, events, upcoiming or past, local or even worldwide events., Any Organization(dbdrag, nspl, iasca, usaci, cspl, and the many I missed.)
In this section we can go through in detail what happened at each show. It would be nice to inform ALL of Canada what's going on at, or even behind some of the scenes at these shows.. (This could help knock off some beeef. lol)

Next Segment:
Goes to all our more hardcore builds... Discuss, and critisize(constructive critisism) your designs, installs, latest testings, scores, what you blew up, what's better, worse, etc. Would be Great for the advanced street competitors, SS, and Extremes.. This segment would be very very useful for those wishing to compete on a hardcore level.

I like that skype idea. I use it all the time on my iPhone 4 calling brother in Poland.

Don't think so, difference would be too small. I believe is an isolated result, maybe further testing would help finding the truth...

Newbie here and there are a LOT of things slowing me down on becoming spl competeitor.

But I am getting there. The main concerns I have now are the amps.

Some of the hardcore people here have like $3000 amps. Who can compete agaisnt that when their car isnt even worth that much? Lol

I would be very interested in getting the loudest with the less power then anything. My current amp is only 500 wats rms. Which is awfully small so I will be upgrading but I really dont think I can afford something that can do like 10,000 watt burps.

I been looking used and new and havent found anything decent. Also I like my subs for daily driving too. And trying to listen to 10,000 watts of power isnt exactly what im looking for.

But I have no problem with owning 2 or 3 amps that I can switch in for comptetions. The 500 watt I have now is fine for daily driving but wanna upgrade to something bigger.

Right now tho I am looking for more power. Aka wiring, batterie, and big 3 setup. I bought a termlab and will be able to test.

My car is a 1996 VW Jetta and was wondering if I would need to upgrade the alternator for the big 3? Or will doing the big 3 still be beneficial even with the stock alternator?

My lights dont dim right now but might once I get bigger amp. I have 2 runs of 0 Gauage one for positive and negative for the battery (which I dont own yet). I read I will need at least 8?

Now my car is used year round how can I run these wires without taking out my whole fire wall? lol.

There is so much to learn and some people like me dont have high speed. So skype wouldnt work too well? Unless I am wrong but doesnt skype have like video conference and stuff?

Also if you guys decide to skype maybe someone could write down everything that was talked about and post it somewhere? Not having to post the whole thing but have like little folders u can download on the subject your looking for to read?

I am not sure but I am highly interested in this topic.
