like mentioned before will most likely fail mechanically but I have seen the type R's handle quite well thermally... 1 JBL 1200.1 per coil...around 1200rms so Im sure IF your amps puts out 2500rms it should handle it aslong as the box you design/build will help keep it in its basket...they only have 0.5 inch one way xmax

i burped like 3-4 times in the first run. my friend said it look like the cone was goin to pop out but it didnt. bottoming out badly tho. amazed its still survived. and then in the second run, i was playing around test tone for the whole 30 sec. it still survived.

amazed how strong it is. i hit 142.x. i thought its not to bad.
