would this sound good?

Alright so I had the chance to pick up a stroker 15D cheap so I did... I was thinking of putting it in my talon and then when i raced taking it out easily. But my question is how loud is it going to be? and hows the SQ its not TOTALY crap is it? iv never owned a stroker but iv heard a single 12 stroker and it killed me how is the 15 compared to the 12. Im gonna be hooking up my Ma Audio HK-602SX to it also. another question im thinking of upgrading the alt but should i be getting a bigget then 5 frad cap?
I probably have more questions but ill post them when i get it

The sub will sound as good as you make the box.... so you should be ok there.

As for needing a larger than 5 farad cap? ... meh, forget the cap all together. Spent the money on actual upgrades to the electrical system (alt, wire, batt)

I agree with jordy. Do the "big three" or buy a new battery before you buy a capacitor.

An older style SPL sub lke the stroker does need a really big box to properly show itself off, so if you really want it to pound away you have to be willing to make a 4cu.ft.+ box with a properly tuned port in it. Also you shoudl not need to make any electrial additions at all to your system with that amp. Until you start drawing over 600w RMS (or over 80amps) the stock system in just about any vehicle should be able to power it just fine. And although adding a cap (which a good 1F would do you jsut fine) does give a better initial punch effect to the sound, you will notice a much better improvement by getting a better amp.

i believe I read somewhere that you only need (spoken looosely) .5 farads per 1000w (not rms) anything more is just overkill

The basic rule of thumb is about 1 farad per 1000w RMS. you don't need more than this because after that your amp isn't getiting any benifit to having all that available power, and your only putting more strain than you need to on your car's electrical system.

the old skool strokers are more of a woofer then a subwoofer IMO.... and I have found that they are not really suited well for subbass under 50hz...

your millage may vary...
