sorry but I cant stand teh sound of sealed boxes... ported for me !

btw... how big is the box and how far will it be placed from the windshield ???
that will be a big factor how high or low you tune your box

oh... and the width of your truck matters too

durrrrrrrr 4th order ported, so much for me paying attention lol

I can't imagine a ported box tuned to 60hz having anything useful at 40hz... I mean that's getting close to an octave lower than the tuning frequency, and will be at least 15db less than 60hz (4th order = 24db/octave rolloff).

Great for SPL, but I wouldn't want to listen to that on the daily.

exactly what this box is going to be, strictly spl. the ports will be interchangable and hopefully i can get out low enough for some daily.

The frequency response peak will be in the 70-95hz range, depending on the box volume, which should be good for strictly SPL
What volume is the box?

the box is 2.5cu^3 sealed and 3cu^3 ported with 80 inches port area tuned to 60hz

I'd expect the peak to be between 80-95hz then.

Generally, the smaller the box is, the higher above the tuning frequency the freqeuncy response peak is.
