Anyone done one of these up yet?
Thinking of 2 L7 10's maybe with a black/yellow theme in vinyl. Have $10k tax in to play with. Want to keep the install under $4k, but still have some bling.

bigman 05-12-2005 04:07 PM

i believe shawn fleming did one. u shoiuld look it up on termpro. i believe the thread is called camp rumble bee. much more then 10k though.

JRace 05-12-2005 04:20 PM

WTF is a rumble bee?

Shaughn Murley 05-12-2005 04:41 PM

It's a yellow and black dodge ram....

Brandon 05-12-2005 04:55 PM

sorry Car Trek

Brandon 05-12-2005 04:55 PM

^ with a loud exhaust.

Another useless turd that gets smoked by the Ford Lightning.....just like the Ram SRT/10.

Cool looking truck though....a guy at the industrial plaza in Cobourg has one....nice, but useless....not 4x4.

SUX 2BU 05-12-2005 05:04 PM

Perhaps when you too can own a car that is made in the same decade you are living in, you won't be so bitter to those who have new cars

Dereck Waller 05-12-2005 09:07 PM

Ford Lightning smoking an SRT10? Your the one smoking something Brandon. The Lightning has never been able to beat the SRT 10 in any head to head test.

I would like to see some numbers to back that up. I have never heard the Lightning to be an overly fast truck.

Lumina Guy: Can you fit anymore haggard pics in your signature? At least take the time to get high quality images if your going to out your signature.

Dereck Waller 05-13-2005 12:12 AM

The Lightning is quick for sure, but the closest I have seen it come in a head to head shoot out is about 3/4 of a second behind the SRT 10.

zzzzzzz 05-13-2005 06:10 AM

1st you nedd to cut holes for the sub in the floor
2nd smoking something
3rd look at new car

JRace 05-13-2005 09:26 AM

Ewwwww sounds about as nice looking as a orange/black ford pick up.

Cavalier Chunk 05-13-2005 09:35 AM

it's the best i can do with a 10 dollar digi cam.

t raver1 smith 05-13-2005 09:46 AM

click on my link for my gps site, follow it to the installation station and check out the gallery.

Paul Niwranski 05-13-2005 10:03 AM

Jared - the truck is black with a yellow 'bumblebee' stripe at the back of the box, like the old Super Bees had. Most I see have a scooped hood too but I'm not sure if that is optional or not.

JRace 05-13-2005 10:41 AM

Ahh I see now. I googled the truck and it looks pretty nice.

I just can't shake the image of the fugly Orange Harley Davidson P/U!!

If you can't do it right, don't do it at all.

There must be 2 versions of the truck? The two I have seen are Yellow, with a Black stripe at the back.

Cool trucks.

Paul Niwranski 05-13-2005 12:48 PM

^ Entirely possible. The new 'Daytona' option I have seen in both Salsa Red (wicked colour) and Silver.

Dereck Waller 05-13-2005 01:28 PM

The 'Daytona' and Rumble Bee are different options that look similar. I wouldn't pay extra for a stupid stripe from a dealer anyways.

Starterwiz 05-13-2005 01:41 PM

Yeah....lots extra...the yellow dash bezel is 400 bux....we wanted to cut it for a dvd/screen....but no.
Now the stripe on the back of a 69 GTS Swinger....that's a 50 horsepower stripe. :D

But do you see ANYONE else who takes lousey pictures of t-shirts that look like they belong in a Jeff Foxworth Redneck stand-up act, and post them in their signature?

You have the internet. I am sure you must be able to find some actuall images out there that look better than those.

Dude, its not supposed to be a fight. I appologise if you take it that way. Just some constructive critisism. Just trying to give a guy some feedback on how things are viewed by other people. But hey, who am I to judge. Rock on man!

He's got a pic of an install in a Rumble Bee.

Brandon 05-16-2005 05:14 PM

For the record, you are all smoking something funny.

The factory Lightning is only a tenth of a second slower than a factory SRT-10. Mustang Mag did tests.

That's a 380hp(factory) truck a tenth of a second slower than a 500hp truck......hmmm, there's something wrong with this picture.

Not to mention, you can upgrade the hell out of the 5.4 in the Lightning.....what upgrades can you get for an 8.0L V-10? Spend 300 bucks on a chip for the Lightning and you have the SRT-10 beat no problem.

Merlin 05-16-2005 05:34 PM

buy a smart car

That's one review, I have seen reviews with bigger differences. Also with the SRT10 you don't get the exact same interior as a base model v-6 truck.

and you would actually trust a magazine devoted to a Ford product to endorse another company's product?

I think you just blurted that out instead of thinking....I said mustang mag did tests and the Lightning was a tenth of a second slower.

Brandon 05-17-2005 04:59 PM

Dereck, it's all in how the trucks are driven.....a great driver could have the Lightning and beat an SRT with a rookie driver.

Also, you're pretty much right about the interior...except the Lightning comes with white face guages and really nice seats.....other than that, yea it's a run of the mill F-150 interior.

edgar 05-17-2005 05:56 PM

so let me get this straight, you go ahead and insult me, and right in the next post disprove yourself?

what tests? are these scientific tests that can be repeated over and over again? or did these guys run the trucks through a quarter mile? and who knows under what circumstances or how many runs they did to get their numbers, or rather to get them to favor Ford

I dug this comparison review up where the difference is .4 seconds in the quarter, and they did "tests" too, check out the trap speed too while you're at it: http://www.edmunds.com/reviews/compa...7/article.html

if you're going to make a point, at least use a more reliable source than a magazine that relies on the Ford community, and I'm sure a good number of Ford's advertising dollars. Really, what do you expect them to say, the Dodge kicks the crap out of the Lightning? I don't know if that's true, but I sure as hell wouldn't trust Ford monthly to tell me
