13w7 Best box? ported vs Sealed!?

hey guys i have a 13w7 JL sub
im turning into a home sub, whats the best box for use in a home?
a spec made ported or a sealed?
let me know what you guys think!

What are you going to be powering it with in the home?

its going to be powered by a crown XTI2000 amp

That's going to get friggen loud in your house :P

But yes, built it to spec ported with a well built and braced box and you shouldn't have any regrets.

ye it is lol ye im going to double up on all walls even port ,2.4 cf after displacements of port and driver, and tuned to 30hz for the nice low notes

play with box placement ALOT i know corner loading works well i currently have an 18 in my basement sub up port in hte corner

port and sub into a corner should work well too

Ported in a house? Yeah, if you're sitting 50 feet away from your TV or stereo ...
I don't know, I just don't think I'd port that. I'll let the experts jump in on this one but ...

You know how a 10 inch MTX sub sounds AMAZING inside the walls of BestBuy ... same effect, so the fact that you're running a 13w7 is a bit of an overkill IMO.
But hey ... do it.

Take a look at the JL Fathom and do what it does (I think it has a smallish port)

i run an 18" btl in 7 cubes not sure on tunning and it is a bit over kill and its only off maybe 100rms and my basement is one big open room as well!

you really need to play around with sub placement though i learned one spot will be louder then the other
