15" upgrade

Alright folks, switchin things up again before the spring hits. Options are as follows:

Rockford Fosgate T2D2 15.... Current model-1200rms
Sundown Zv3 15..................Current model-1500rms (conservative)

Both can be had for the same price and the enclosure I have is well tailored to both. Sub will running off my SAZ-1500D v2. Looking for great output as well as musicality. Box is 3.5 net before displacement of either sub and tuned to 29 Hz. Anyone with RELIABLE experience or CONSTRUCTIVE input, please help me out. Currently running a single SA-15 but need more output. My first choice was an AA Havoc 15 but my box is a tad to small to make that sub happy so these are my options. Need to pull the trigger on this asap so quick responses are much appreciated.

I would go with the Zv3 even though it can take more power than you have available, it will compliment your box better than the r/f and also perform better at that tuning frequency.

Thanks Sonic.... Have you had the pleasure of using either of them. Leaning towards the Z cuz i am a bit of a sundown nut hugger..lol! Just that everywhere i read, guys are saying the Z's are laughing at 2k and anything less would be pointless. I kinda believe them cuz my Sa 15 takes around 1200 rms with relatively no strain. Thought that maybe i could get similar results out of the t2 with the xtra power i have on tap.

Havent had personal experience witth the Z, I based my recommendation on the box and more so it's tuning frequency and the numerous reviews online. I know you are limited on power but, but here is the advantage..you can always upgrade the amp, rather than having to upgrade both the amp and sub ..lol...

It's not that easy to beat that sa-15 on output with the same power.

definitely the z...ive had the T2 12 before and was let down...u still have the other sa for sale txt me i have a few more options you should look into

If it were me (I have no experience with either) I would hands down go with the sundown. Much more reputable as a bullet proof sub vs the rockford.

Like I said, leaning towards the Z anyway just a hefty price tag and dont intend on upping power anytime soon. To make things even more confusing, I was reccomended to check out the DC lv 4, which also suits the bill for this set up in terms of power and box requirements but dont know to much about it. Its almost half the price of the Z as well which is a GREAT bonus. Thanks for the opinions fellas, please keep em coming. First demo to the one that helps me decide... LOL!!!

The best route in my opinion is to build a better box rather than dropping coin on a new sub. What is your box size, port dimensions?

Actually, this is a great box and perfect size for my trunk. With my current sub it nets 3.5 cubes after all displacements and around 3.69 without the sub. Box is tuned to 29hz and has bracing and no 90 degree anlgles, all 45's includin the port so changing the box is not really an option but thanks for the suggestion. As much as I would love to have the Z, i think I will pass on it due to its hefty price tag and lack of power. Been looking and reading up on the DC lvl 4 and think this may be a really good option. Good match for both the amp and box and have only read good things about it. Anyone who has had any experience with them or have heard one, please feel free to chime in.
