2X JL W3 or 1 W6

I'm trying to figure this thing out. I've got 2 12" W3's new version in a sealed box and for SQ i'm happy. Sealed box 20% larger than manufacturer's recomended. The thing is i'm not happy with the frq response these subs provide. Not too much low bass. I could go ported i know. The amp is a Kicker 650.1 digital amp pushing 720 RMS subs need 300 each

If i were to get a 12W6 and use a same size box and same amp would i be getting more bass out it ? Or a 10W7 with the same box ?
Just thinking that even though the W6 is only 400 RMS having a larger box for one sub and feeding 700+ RMS would create more bass perhaps ....

can't comment on a w6, but as far as 10w7 goes, this thing surprisingly slams on 600w amp. I think it's even a bit too much low end for sq purposes, but it may be that the test box of 1.5 i have now is a bit too big for it.

w3

as far as w6's go it's only 100 wats more so i'm also questioning what it could do versus 2 W3's and the other thing is that my amp is a digital one so it's pretty flexible in terms of what i can do with it if i had a W7 ...

the W6 is the least "aggresive" sub out of that lineup, but the best SQ JL Audio sub IMO. if u want output go W7 (it will still sound good doing it), if u want SQ go W6, but your current setup is pretty good as far as a mix of SPL and SQ for JL Audio anyhow. You may want to look at different brands.

I have 1 CDT euro SQ12" in a small ported box, and it sounds very good, controlled and detialed, loud when you want it to be, mellow when you don't . I really like this sub

In terms of output, don't concentrate too much on RMS ratings...better to focus on overall displacement.

If you want more lowend extension, the 10W7 will definitely do the job.

please empty your PM box as i cannot send you a response. In light of that here it is.

The box was .75cu/ft which is within spec for the JL driver. I was using my kicker 1200.1 on the sub and it was seeing 600w however I have my gains all the way down on the sub and do not push it. I just use it for a little fill for my music not boomy bass as thats not what i listen to. if you want to through it in your car and test it on an amp you are more than welcome to. I will guarentee it not to be DOA as it was in my daily driver till the day I took it out.

I would highly recommend to try to get two W6's and stop wondering about JL sooner, so you can move on to other brands if needed. Two W6's would be pretty sweet as far as JL bass is concerned.
