So as some of you may know, or may not. I just finally got the 4runner. and now i'm in the process of getting an alpine pxa-h700. as well as some new subs, the kickers not doing it for me no more.

So i've pretty much narrowed it down to 3 subs. 21inch maelstrom, 18inch re xxx, or 18 inch ssa xcon. However i'll be fitting 2 of these in the appropriate enclosure. My question is, does anyone local have a similar setup, that maybe they would let me hear, or any opinions or expertise would be greatly appreciated. what i want is good sound quality, but you can still hear it from 2 blocks down.

id go with the xxx and feed it at least 4k off maybe an arc audio 4000 se amp for ultimate SQL

Seems the Z has more output potential but the X would be my choice for SQL.

 

I would completely disagree with that. The XXX is too power hungry for what you get out of it in my opinion.
