5.25" Speakers
#1
I need some new 5.25" speakers for the doors of my Jeep Comanche truck. The MA Audio components are cutting it anymore. I'm going to be running the speakers off my deck.I am just running the front speakers, no rears. I'm on a budget and only want to spend about a $100 on new speakers. Does anyone have any suggestions? I was thinking about some Kenwood or Pioneer Coaxials.

Clean and bright and sound best with a little bit of Dynamat or Brown Bread around the mounting surface.

Metal basket mounted to metal door panel can cause resonance. I found my civics door speakers to sound smoother and more linear after I sound deadened the mounting area of the speakers. Same results with almost every client we have done this with.
The only client that had little or no audible difference drove a 2004 Cadillac STS with MBQuart Reference components in the front doors. Those cars are soundproofed fairly well from the factory with little or no resonance, rattles or distortion. Kinda expect it in an $80,000 luxury car.
Also, even a small amount of Dynamat or BrownBread can lessen the effects of road noise. I have found great results from applying 2" x 2" squares evenly distributed over the door panel and best results with total coverage.

Sorry for all the questions but i have one more. If i get a set of components that are bi-ampable does that mean i can use the front channel of my deck to power the tweeters and the rear channel to power the mid bass speakers? I'm looking for a way to get the most power out of my speakers without buying another amp to power them.

Yea, you can bi-amp... but your not going to notice a huge diff over running a single channel...
What is wrong with the MA components ?
If you want kick *** mid/high I suggest you upgrade to 6.5s with a good install and amp power.... there is only so much you can do with a deck.. although midbass in doors + midrange in kicks might do the trick..
