i would just say, a full-range speaker, is any co-axial speaker. period. cuz it would play the full spectrum. 50hz to 20khz any beyond (although once you reach puberty very few people can hear anything past 16khz..)

a single 12 in a celica should be able to rattle your bones if it's set up properly!

By the way i have those jbl gti comps...the mid is off the hook. It plays low, loud, accurate, and very clean. I'm driving them with 200+ watts per mid crossed at 50 hz and it handles it with no problem.

Talking

I am now using the mids out of these components as mid-bass drivers in my van....they work like a charm and I now have to re-tune my van as a result......

One thing to be careful with is how you use them. Since they are not purpose built MB drivers, the frequency range (especially the low end) and the amount of power must be set-up properly. It is relatively easy to over-excurt the driver if you run it too low and feed it too much power......before it gets to that point the difference in SQ is amazing.........I highly recommend dedicated MB drivers for everybody.....

Before I got them I was looking into the new JL 6W3V3 drivers as a replacement for my dead Orion...they are built as a woofer and would make a very nice MB.....

a "meaty" mid-range woofer that can put out with the best of them would be the jbl gti series. i've always liked them. but they are not full range, they are a 2 way component set.
Ok this might be a dumb question. The 660gti is not full range, but could you make it full range by adding a 3 or 4 inch driver with its own crossover, and then tuning the jbl crossover to stay above and below what ever the 3-4 inch is tuned at?
