8 inch SQ??
So I've been hunting for a SQ 8" sub. Now, problem is, there's 2 shops locally that carry car audio, future shop (booo) and another local shop who has recently become an alpine dealer, and I'm not really into it.
So, my question is this, if you SQ nuts were to put a 8" sub, in the trunk of a small sedan, which would produce wonderful sounds, what would you choose? And, in what type of enclusure?
I've been looking at the JL Audio HO108R-W7, which is the 8" W7 in the high output vented box. Now, i can't find these anywhere in Canada, not even on ebay. There was one that sold here for $350, but I missed that f***ing deal. LOL
What else is out there?
Thx
John

Here is the Newfoundland JL Audio Dealer
Central Truck Cap

Also the JBL GTO804 is not a bad sub either. How much power are you wanting to put into it?

Well it's not about power, its about the 8" in a proper box putting enough sound through the car. I know an 8 can do it, but, like, lets say the infinity 8" reference, that's just not gonna do it.
I was thinking a single 8, but those GTO's only come in 4ohm, I could go 2 and put a nice clean amp to 2 ohms.
Hmmm, always on top of things you are steve!!

IIRC, there is a fellow with the older Eclipse aluminum cone 8's that are in the FS section here on the site. They are a amazingly good SQ sub in a small sealed box. Perfect for what you need. From what I recall the subs are new as well.

At least I'd be able to sell the JL setup again here or on ebay when I'm done with it in 1.5 years when I will become car-less.
