Alpine CDA-9851 Any potential?

My VW Corrado was stolen a while ago, and the one good thing is that the stereo gear I had planned to drop in was in the house at the time. It is a basic system using some old stuff I have had for a long time.
Anyway, the new replacement car came with an Alpine CDA 9851. going through stock speakers. It sounds pretty good for what it is, but does this unit have any potential for good sound?. The gear I plan on using is an Old Hifonics Europa powering an effecient 10 inch sealed sub and some Focal 5.25 K2 components.

Not too bad of a deck to start off with ( I own one myself), no X-overs and its not 4volt preouts, but if ur running through an EQ and ur amps have X-overs its awesome
