Alpine PXA-H900 Woes

That's really surprising. It's funny though how no other H900 owners have admitted to this. Perhaps it's an ego thing that their rather pricey H900 has some flaws. Good for you for exposing that Adam. I'm shocked though: werent' the H900's hand-built by Santa's elves and then magically enhanced with fairy dust by pixies? LOL I'm just joshin'.
Perhaps though this is why they brought out the H990 that (correct me if I'm wrong) does not use it's own display but rather through the DVA-990? I guess the feature reduction of the 990 is worth it in the end if a person can't even read what their 900 is doing. Might have to seek out an electronics repairer to see what they can source for you.

just out of curiosity...what did customers say when they were told that their expensive equipment can't be warrantied (within the warranty period)? Did Alpine just replace it at that time, or did they say, "sorry we don't have parts...you're sol"???

just get a laptop.. run it through that.. lots of people have ditched the controller. oh yes and when you do get it running, buy a real nice Hu like a z1, and run through the anolog inputs of the 900.. PS the digital input on the 900 sucks as well..

I heard the wiring was made from the *** hairs of blue unicorns and the circiut boards from the jelly extract of alien eye *****,and this was from a reliable source.

that is folklore....ive enstensively tested that theory in many vehicles and on a display board and the theory is garbage

4 or 5...the displays were definitely a big probelm....one was unable to be fixed because there just wasnt any parts available to fix it...........for me its a small price to pay for owning one.....alpine h900 displays are kinda like eclipse cd players....its not a matter of if but when it will break and you never really know if its gonna get fixed properly at that
