So if i do what killergrand said and open up the back of the pod into the door I should retain the improved imaging while gaining the lower frequencies. So the next step would be to break out the brown bread and seal up the door best I can?

Thanks alot for all the help. You made me understand more of the physics behind it all. If I had talked to you before I did my entire install I would have done things differently.

 

This is what you should have tried in the first place before building pods.

 

Without the pods the speakers need to be recessed into the doors to get the factory grill on. The pods bring the speakers out angle the up and back and allow the tweeter to be mounted right beside the mid. Now I am using the Alpine grill instead of the factory perforated plasitc. The pods are definetly going to improve imaging. Since defro mentioned that I am not getting those lower harmonics I went out and had a good listen to it and he is right. The vocals sound better but the lower frequencies do sound thin. I can open up the back of the pod into the door cavity and with the door properly sealled I think it will make a big difference. Also the pods I had the orion xtr comps in were frigin huge so that probably why they sounded fuller than these ones. Thanks for the idea killer.
