another SQ sub question

I am just starting to build a system for my new car , a new Audi TT. I dont want to spend a fortune, and dont plan on compeating or anything like that, but I'd like to get a good full sound.

I am pretty spoiled at home with sound quality, with an all Totem system. I would rather not spend $1000's of dollars though for the car. Here's what I have avaliable to me at the moment for a Sub.

JL Audio 10w6

Hertz energy series 10" in Hertz Box

Focal Polyglass 11"

Alpine 12" type X

I am thinking of the alpine ...So in the future I can component match with the f#1 seperates, I see they use Scanspeak drivers, the same a set of my totem Hawks uses, and I know the sound they are capable of

Focals, ....just because they are Focals I guess, I've never heard the polyglass, but would love , one day , to step into the utopia line.

Hertz....I cant find much info on these drivers, but what I can find (from their website) looks good, the sub I'm looking at is not the top of the line offering from them, but comes in a factory made Box,

JL....Just because of all the good things I've heard from them in the past, i've heard the w7 's .., and they sounded a bit intense to me , I like a smooth sound,..

Anyways I've rambled on enough for now, thanks in advance for your thoughts and advice.

This just in, add the Eclipse Titanium series to your short list. They just went on clearout as of last night. 10" and 12" are available.

Save some money and go for the Scan's over the F1 status. The speakers arent identical, but who's to say which is better. I would also suggest the either the W6 or the type X for your sub choice. Both are very good SQ subs.

If you are looking for pue SQ I would go with the Focal. If you want something that will still have awesome SQ but hit a little harder I would go with the W6.

I just called AVI in Richmond, and there was no awnser . They seem to have a shallow mount 10" that looks very interesting (SL-500) since i have a small smount of space in my audi.

Does anyone know of AVI, do they sell out of their shop in Richmond , or do they have dealers in vancouver

EDIT
SI-Mag , i'll have a look at that one thanks

hi i am new here but i will try and help. out of the list you have, i have heard the jl's, hertz (local dealer), lots of AVI when we had a dealer in town. i currently own a jl and kicker subs. i have also heard the eclipse aluminum's (not the titaniums) and they sound nice too. the alpines get great reviews as well as focal. i have always really liked the AVI's. if there is no dealer in your area i think AVI will sell direct from Richmond. it's true there are so many choices out there. oh ya there is also Digital Designs, i think their entry level subs are worth looking at. how much space do you have? are you planning on sealed or a vented enclosure? this will somewhat influence your sub choice. plus try to listen to as many installed "in car" as you can. when it comes to audio it's how it sounds to your ears that matters, and install will be a big part of the sound quality. i hope this helps a little.
