Hello, newby here. I have ben racking my brains and dropping by all the local shops, trying to come up with a system for my car that meets my needs and budget. The car is a 1998 BMW 3 series sedan. I have upgraded the pitifull stock head unit with a Blaupunkt CD43 BMW unit that made a nice initial difference. Now I want to get as much SQ out of it as possible. Not looking for something that plays real loud, but smooth and clear is a muct. Mostly like Piano, jazz, rock. Here is what I am thinking of doing. Custom kick panels that will re orient the 5.25 out a bit. Apply sound deadener to inside kick panels. Speakers I am considering are Morel Elates, Focal polykevlar, Dynaudio (Won't fit as far as I can see) . I would power these with a two channel amp by Audison or Zapco, or ? I will leave the rear speakers as is powered by the factory amp. I am leaning towards an infinity basslink in the trunk and would take out the metal panel for the optional ski pass through to let the bass come in the cabin. The basslink appeals to me due to it's light weight, ease of removal, and ability to swap into my VW Corrado winter car. I am not onto pounding base, but do want the sound to be Full. ANy ideas greatly appreciated.
