Any reviews on alpine type x subs w/ type x speakers?

Just wondering if it'd sound good or not and the bass output from the subs. I'd be getting two subs. Are they dvc or more? And what kind of box should I get for them??

They can pound! But SQ??? If I was looking for SQ subs within the same price range, I would choose something with a reputation for quick response and made in Europe, America, Brazil...not typically China.

"Selling my two Alpine Type X 12" subs. These are in my opinion, one of the best preforming subs available at any price. Great outut and really great SQ." that's a quote from FOZZZ, he's a well respected, long time competitor that did an awesome install in his neon...if you do an advanced search you can find photos and his opinions as well as other's about Alpine type X subs and components. I have type R's and they sound great, clean, loud, and very tight...the X's are even tighter, and cleaner. You'd be hard pressed to find better at that price point for SQ, anyway SQ is totally subjective, and unless you're into high level competitions that require lots of install and set up time...they're hard to beat. Do a search, go listen to them and decide what you like best. By the way, my r's have been driven by a 1200 watt amp to the pair for 1.5 years and 3-5 hours a day with no problems at all.

Thumbs up for Type X. My buddy had this sub, and it pounded loud and clean. My other buddy has a component set, and has nothing but praises for them.

a type x set? Or just a diff. set? And thanks, positive's basically what i'm looking for. Any recommendations on a box? say, one that holds two subs, and also an amp.

I did indeed enjoy my Type X 12's. They do require a decent amount of power, but they are on my short list for SQ subs, at any price. The were IB in my car but work well in other applications as well.
