Audax 5.25 ?

I was looking around on madisound and came across the Audax VP 130Z2 5.25"s for $13 a piece. I was wondering what kind of sound I could expect from these, as i have never heard any Audax speakers.

Kids these days.....

I havent heard that particular Audax, but I have heard a couple. Theyre decent speakers, nothing amazing, but ok for the money.

I bet people have heard way more Audax than the think - they just don't know it.

I bet that's a decent sounding speaker - if you look at the components that make it up, it's a nice piece. Be wary of that tweeter though - it sticks out a long way from the face of the driver.

Audax is one (if not the largest) manufacturer of cone and dome drivers. They are huge in pro audio. Advantage they are inexpensive, advantage if they suck your out a 6 pack or three, disadvantage they are not 'auditionalble'. and are they 4 or 8 ohm , in other words will they match output nicely with your tweeter
