funny, but in testing, the tru technology A class stomped on the Thesis, at half the price. but then again, ferrari could market a chevette as a luxury car and people would pay 500 grand for it.

For all of you here in Ontario, there is rumour that a Thesis Vehicle will be started soon. The system will have 2 Thesis', one for the subs and one for the front end. When it is done there will be an unveiling and all who want will be invited to experience music nirvana. Any guesses what the speakers may be?

Hey gang...
A couple things..
Easy with posting my pictures without permission...
The Thesis amp is indeed incredible. I did like it very much. Definitely amongst the best amplifiers I have auditioned.
What makes it so expensive? everything is over the top!
For example:
Each transformer is encased in it's own little
aluminum enclosure.
The cooling fans have washable filters.
The top of the amp is real etched glass.
The output transistors only just became available and the amp acheives it's incredible power capabilities while using one pair of devices per channel.
...and so on...
It's a statement piece - like the F#1 Status from Alpine and the Be product from Focal.

Washable filters huh? I bet those add about $200 to the price, etched glass, is equally hard to come by and exppensive to purchase. Really I bet the parts in this amp does not cost 3 times the price of any other Audison amps parts. The money is from the development and small production runs. Also it doesn't hurt sometimes to just charge more to make it worth more

I saw one at Scott Buwalda's summit in Buffalo. Cool looking piece. Never heard one though. From the rumor mills, the Thesis won in some european magazine test, but won on features. TRU came in second and apparently beat it on sound quality and something else. I think I have that article somewhere. But what was said above was dead on. Let your ears decide. And not many people playing at this level so finding them to do a comparison would be interesting on it's own, although not impossible.
Would be interesting to see an equipment line-up on par to match the capabilities of the Thesis. Price tag would likely be pretty large. Alpine F1, with some Be's and I wonder what else.
