It will affect the sound, definitely. By painting the cones you would be adding mass to it as well as changing it's properties.
I wouldn't recommmend it (it would also void your warranty if applicable) although, if you did you may not hear a difference.

the point of a cone is to be as durable as it can be with the least amount of wieght. deppending on what paint u use it could effect both factors, but i guess with those speakers it doesn't really matter haha if u were ganna do it to some focal, or jl zr's i might have to kill you for even thinking the idea. but on the pioneer's go for it like to hear about what happens

Duracell, that is why i want to paint them "they are cheap speakers" and i want them red until i am able to buy some actuall nice speakers. I think i am gonna try it like you said. (they were only $35) It would be nice to see how it turns out.
