Bi amp power

I agree - once you have 300-500 on the bottom end it is plenty for everything but street showdowns. After that you cna pile the power onto the front end.
Currently, my plans are coming out to about 800 on the subs and another 800 on the front end if I go with the amps I am looking at. This is a result of cosmetics and size matching as much as it is power

Wow Adam, 100W/ch for your tweets. I have 3.5W for my horns and they are @ 0dB overall gain. I'm using 50W/ch for my mids and they are knocked down ~ 2dB. Only using 200W for 2 subs currently.
I prefer using multiple amps, or at least have independent gain control.
As stated the slew rate can make a difference in the sound, hard to measure without the proper eqpt and only a handful of mfgrs publish it. I've seen amps with SR from 17V/us to 370V/us.
hmmm, maybe a test to see if higher SR produces a better/worse sound?
