Budget 3-ways?

I am trying to complete a build in my MKV jetta. They have a factory 3 way set in the doors.

I have an Alpine amp that would be good for 75x4 @4ohm or 150x2 @ 2ohm. Its been a while since i have been in the car audio game. I am looking for something that will be an upgrade to the factory 3 ways but wont break the bank. Suggestions?

what have you found so far? I do presume you have looked and done some research?
3 ways are generally higher end systems. How much are you planning to spend?

Well i consider posting here research....

I live in a town that gives me ZERO oppertunity to demo a set. There isnt one retailer around me that carries a 3 way set.

I know the big names that carry 3 ways like Morel, Rainbow, CDT, JL Audio, ect have set that i am sure i wont be dissapointed with. What i am looking for is perhaps so decent less known brands that carry sets.

Idealy i would like to spend no more than $500 for the whole set.

I have new sets of the high end Eclipse 3way component speakers on sale right now. I have 3 pair left at $399.00. The midbass driver on it is a 6.75" and has a huge backyard (read that as a monster magnet) so find out the space that you have available for clearance.

Well i dont think space would be much of an issue for the midbass. VW made a clearance ring for it that can be extended another inch if needed. Do you have a model number for these?

I cant find anything on these other than the pictures on the board here. I am looking at the focal 165vr3 set. It looks like they can be had on ebay for around $500. Anyone heard these?

ebay Focals are mostly fakes...be very careful with those. The eclipse that MR2NR has are awesome for the price. They tend to be a little on the brighter side, but if you're like me that's a good thing.
