Can signal cables make a difference
I was wondering if using a high quality rca and speaker cables from monstercable (the 300 or 400 series) would have an audible difference from using any other cable like a higher line stinger?
I am runing audison VRX amps and Focal Be kit

might be able to measure it...but I can't hear it. I've a/b tested recoton vs. monster many times with no audible difference. They do look nice though, and are stronger, more resilient to damage when running them through the car.

I agree with what has been posted in that a GOOD cable (twisted pair with metal ends, maybe $30-60 a set) is better in that it is likely more robust, holds on better, lasts longer, etc. I don't entertain any claims that they may sound better though.

Depends... are you talking optical cable vs twisted pair? honestly, as long as the ends are quality, and the wire is decent quality and size (cheaper cables almost always have tiny wire, which leads to bigger cable losses) and I can repair the ends (metal ends, not moulded plastic) then I'm good with the cable.
That said, I'm running stinger expert series for my HU-processor run, and radio shack's best gold ended shielded, twisted pair cables from my processor to the amps. the most I've ever paid for a cable is $16, including my optical cable (radio won't run optical, hence the analog)

Honestly, I have to agree with the opinions of several other posters.
High-dollar interconnects are largely marketing and packaging. They'll look pretty and of course have a convincing story as to why they're "worth" $189.99 for a single 5 metre RCA cable...
Look for decent quality connectors, metal if possible though not all molded plastic ends are bad. Twisted pairs and shielding definately helps as well in the automotive environment.
Fancy machined parts, exotic platings, blue sparkly insulation all do little to contribute to the sound quality of the cables...

Since this is a question on quality of the cable I shall limit my comments to quality.
Once you reach the $50 mark for a meter I am not sure it is possible to get too much more quality into a cable... 1) an outer plastic that resists UV damage, 2) a reinforcement layer (this may be external or internal) to prevent twisting, cutting and scuffing, or even exceeding bend radius, 3) an inner conductor of high quality copper, 4) a insulator over the copper to provide the correct dielectric/ insulative properties. Even with all that at $50 a meter the primary cost driver is the RCA connector and that should be top notch.
I have no problem from this discussion recommending a Stinger or Monster, I not sure the price difference is justified by quality.
