CDT Audio, good choice for components?

I am looking into these speakers for my front stage, right now I have infinity reference and they are O.K speakers.

Classic series is what I am looking at because of my price range. Anyone ever use these speakers before?

I purchased a set of CDT ES-620. They are a solid built set of speakers. I was previously running Energy components and wanted more midbass. These definitely had more. Just make sure you deaden the doors up nicely or you will be disappointed. They are not nearly as bright as the infinities (a good thing IMO). They have been referred to as a bright speaker though I don't find they are.

Mounting depth for my set was quite deep so watch that. Numerous mounting options for the tweeter if going component. Crossovers were built very solid.

Now that being said these are the ES line and not the CL so take it with a grain of salt but I have heard nothing but good things about the CL line as well.

I've heard nothing but bad things about the classic line, so go figure. Anything above that line is great though. The HD-62z and the ES-610 are great setups for $300. If you're looking at that $140 price range I'd recommend these rebadged ADS speakers. My friend and I just installed them into his car and they sound great right out of the box. Biampable passives too.

These might not be a bad choice either in the CDT line around your budget -- they have the upgraded tweeter and a little easier to install in tight spots if that's an issue

Coming from Infinity References the CL's won't be a large upgrade and probably not worth the trouble, they are CDT Audio's entry line. It depends on what you're after though. The larger CL's; CL-62 can handle 180wRMS and have a very high sensitivity (also available with a carbon fiber cone CL-62CF, real nice transients and snappy midbass with these, detail is also improved)... If you're looking to get loud and clear they do this very well, but imaging and sound quality is not like it would be with the HD's or Eurosports which are the models you hear about when people mention CDT Audio, they're probably out of your budget however.

The "rebadged ADS / PPI" speakers "zackones99" suggested is the best choice for a tight budget, at $139 they're a real steal. Just be cautious with how they ship etc. to not wind up with a $100+ customs bill at the door as they're coming from the USA.

Screw the budget. Front set is the most important part of the system. Have Ross set you up with some HD's and you will be ecstatic with their performance.

naw, go with euro sports up front...
thats what im running and luv them, now if Ross would just get my replacement rears out to me.. hint, hint, cough, sneeze

really you cant go wrong with what ever set you go with. i was nicely amazed at the clarity that these play at high levels too.
get what you can afford. if you can whait and put more money out than i suggest go ES line.

what ever you choose, good luck

HD's need less power, so smaller amp will do. Keep that in m ind.

I will not be installing an amp/sub in this car. I'd like 2-way components in the front a 3-ways in the back.

All power from the deck, I don't feel like spending money on a sub and amp again, plus I need the trunk space...

I think you mean coaxials not components. What you just described makes absolutely no sense at all unless you mean the coax not components.

How about just getting an amp to liven up all cabin speakers? That would make quite a remarkable improvement, and would give it that authority to compensate for the lack of a subwoofer. I am sure you can find space for one amp.
