I'm almost done with my system the way I want it. (And with what I can afford. I guess what I really want are the focal utopias). But what I want is center channel 5.1 surround and I need to pick up a speaker for it. Any recommendations on the best/most functional or convenient speaker I can pick up for that? My whole system is focal so I'm looking for the 3'' focal mid that comes with my 165krx3's if I can pick one up singly from somewhere. I'm here in Edmonton so I'm sure I can get one ordered..but the faster the better. And I'd settle for something else high end.

i'd look at getting a single driver from solen.ca or madisound.com as you can usually get single drivers from them. Any good mid will do the job and they have many to choose from.

And what about the amp? Any ideas? Just a little one prob...

Look for an old school alpine 35 series amp on ebay. They're usually cheap and are really good amps, plus they come in small footprints and reasonable power output for center channel use. I used a 3503 18x2 watt amp for quite a while with very good results...i just used one channel as the center channel i had at the time was a 2 3/4" oem speaker installed in the factory location. After that i had a morel cdm88 midrange as the center, and used a single channel from a rockford p2002 amp (50x2 watts)...again these can be found on kijiji or the for sale section for $50.00. New single channel full range or even small 2 chanel amps are hard to find these days.
