Sorry, nothing to do with car audio but I was just wondering....Has anybody ever heard these amps? The company I work for prints the brochures for Classe amplifiers/recivers/dvd-cd players and video equipment. They look sweet, but I've never heard of anybody using them.

Adam, have you or your dad ever used/heard them? I know your dad is big into that stuff so I figured maybe he had heard them and what's his oppinion of them.

Classe has been a serious solid-state manufacturer for over a decade. The 'house sound' was warm full and phasey very 3D but not transparent. A significant option to the usual shrill-is-detail crowd. They were similar to the Rowland line in overall performance and build. Basically improved tube sound (no roll off at the freq extremes) without tube hassles.
Now there is the Classe Omega- the best amp I have ever heard... no 'sound', no veil, very real perhaps a bit lean in the warmth area. HIGHLY recommended but the cost was too dear for me... and made in Canada to boot

Check out the omega amps... sell your house expensive but a nice option to Levinson, Krell, Audio Research etc.

I use them exclusively in my Home Theatre. I have a new CAV75 (7x75 or 3x150 in bridge mode) driving my Centre and rear R-L. I have an old but recently rebuilt DR-9 ( 2 x 100 rating but really 2x150) driving my front R-L. These are quality amps - especially the DR-9(one of the last designs of the fouding genious). Classe's top end amps have few rivals - but look at the prices - once your at that level though - it's all personal preference as to the type of sound you like. You do know that Classe was bought by B&W speakers.

To answer the question, yes I have heard of them. I was going to buy the 75 reciever for my theater...but got sidetracked with race bikes.

Definitely good stuff.

Wow, excellent responses guys.

Had no idea they were on the same level as Krell or Levinson. Very interesting. Also had no idea they were so expensive.

Yea, like I said, the company I work for actually prints the brochures for Classe so I seen them and was kinda curious, in fact if anyone has the new brochures, look on the inside cover and it says: Printed in Canada by Maracle Press. Pretty sweet.

Hey - can you get my wife a job? She graduated last year as a graphic designer(3 year program) and can't find a job. We are in Ottawa but I'd send her down to work - she needs a couple of years experience.
