You know your stuff so I wasn't going to say anything, but this (Prime line) makes more sense to me. With the higher power handling/lower efficiency of the Punch line, it will be interesting to hear the results (no pun intended).

In my opinion anything SQ needs to be amped. especially speakers

Definetly amplify them, the difference will be significant. Tighter bass and better
detail

i used to have the amped in my s10 so i def know what its all about, just didnt want to run power wires and all that other jazz, so i wanted to try stock. well i did 1 side today, and the highers were more clear, but no bass what so ever, where the stock speakers would get not bad for stockers. So i threw the stock back in there and called it a day. Maybe in a year or 2 when the trucks not so new anymore ill toss a 3sixy and amp in it. thanks for the help though.

amp!!!!! give em 150+ a side

After market speakers rarley sound better than stock on a factory HU, its because most people not ALL, relate louder to sounding better. The truth is that factory are usually more efficient, and therefore sound "louder" not better. So you need to amp them, plain and simple. Not to burst any ones bubble, but putting 1 speaker on one side, and stock on the other, unless you are running mono, will sound strange....it is not really a fair test.

Well, I installed a set t1 comps today for a customer, off hu it soundl like crap. I hooked it up on a p400-4 bi-amped (for a bit of control over the tweets) it was ok, I then stereo bridge the p400-4 and it came alive !!!

JohnnyRock1588 is correct, 150 + rms a side before it really came alive.
