Digital Designs 6.5' midbass speakers
I purchased a set of Digital Designs 6.5' midbass speakers off of a user from this site. Well I just installed them today in my car and the one speaker sounds awesome, but the other speaker looks like its on its last leg, it has static coming out of it unless slight presure is put down on the cone, and offly enought its the one speaker her had mounted. Is there anyway to fix this problem? I am hoping the seller does something about this but if he doesnt is there anyway to fix the speaker at all? The cone isnt seized it moces freely but all there is is static comming out of it with a little bit of normal sounds. The other speaker works nice and sounds great. Thanks for your help!

have you tried reversing the leads at the amp (to check if the problem is not wih the amp). cause if you do and the static sounds goes to the other side. then its not your speakers. if the sound stays the same side then its the speaker. check its tinsel lead. check it physically for any defects(tinsels let go. glue coming undone, terminals screwed up, etc. also check the wiriing to the speaker if its corroded or the crip is shot or the connection is coming off.
if its not your speakers then switch the rca's at the amplifier input to see if it changes sides that way. that will tell you if the amp is hooped or the headunit.
process of elimination. keep us posted on what you find. i

Yea I tried changing the rca, changing the leads and also putting the speaker onto a different output on the amp, its not the amp or the wiring to the amp. The speaker alone only has wire coming out of it no terminals, tinsels i have no idea where to look on this speaker for them as you can hardly see in itto the speaker, and the speaker itself looks good in shape other then the effects that show it has been once installed where as the other speaker thats giving me no issues looks new out of box. And yes I have the LP filtre turned on the amp thats leading to these speakers....

Is it really necessary for you to be airing this out here...Sounds like a private matter and as long as things are moving forward why would you even name the seller???
I've dealt with this seller before and over the years so have many on this board and he is well respected.
So why don't you give the situation an opportunity to work itself out with some of the mutual co-operation and communication which seems to be ongoing already.
Asking about the dilemma hypothetically is cool but the name thing would upset me, especially since you're both trying to figure out a solution. Even though he's trying to help you but you're putting unneccessary pressure on him. Chill out, dude
