Eclipse CD7200 MKII is dead. Replacement?
I bought a CD7200 MKII and used it for a while but it's now quit on me.
So I'm shopping for a replacement. I don't want to replace it with the same unit as I am now unsure of the build quality plus the interface wasn't ideal anyways.
My number one priority is SQ, with ipod control and interface being second.
I'm considering the Nakamichi CD500, but I'm not sure if I would need an additional EQ to get the flexibility a system needs for good sound?
Also considering the Pioneer DEH800 but unsure of the sound quality - obviously it has the features and ipod control though.
One note; I know it's counter intuitive to look for an SQ deck with ipod control as a priority. I use my ipod for casual listening but will always use CDs for critical listening.
My system:
HU: Eclipse CD7200MKII
4ch: Audison LRX4.1k
Sub Amp: Alpine MRD-M501
Front: Hertz MLK165
Rear: Hertz ESk165
Sub: JL Audio Stealthbox (10" W3v3)
Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated!

I ran the MLKs active for a while and missed the rear fill - I know it goes against everything in terms of SQ...I'm willing to give it another shot but won't sell the rears just in case.

i have actually owned the mx406 as well, and its an amazing unit. but you are correct, you will indeed need some external processing.
if your budget allows go for the p99.
if not, through in something you simply like the look and interface of and use a ms-8.
i don't know of an online source other than crutchfield, but you will pay full retail there.
i know i've seen group buys somewhere in the past online somewhere though. if you are able to buy at a local shop.
