I just got an Image Dynamics IDQ 15 v.2. I was originally looking to get an IDQ12 or perhaps an IDQ10, however I was lucky enough to get a brand new 15 at a great price. (around 170 bux). I'm reasonably confident that it should be a good performer in my system despite the extra cone area. I was amazed to learn that it is designed for a 1.1-1.7 cu/ft sealed enclosure. Since my system is geared more towards SQ than SPL, I was hoping to get some suggestions on enclosure design for this particular driver? It is a fairly rare driver, I have not seen too many installs using IDQ15s (for SPL or SQ). It's a dual 4 ohm driver, so my Xtant should supply it with an modest 300 watts RMS.

Does anyone have any experience with these drivers?

I dont think I want to go with a ported enclosure. I'm thinking that a 'smaller' sealed box (1.3-1.5) cu/ft would probably yeild a smooth response and keep it from being too boomy. I'm sure this driver will hit some incredably low notes with authority, I'm more worried about it sounding sloppy than anything. Ive never run a 15 before, I'm more of a 10 kinda guy actually, but I'm looking forward to hearing it.

Chev: Yeah, I think I'll probably try to get a box built somewhere in the range of that size. I've had suggestions from some friends to build a larger sized box, but I have a feeling it'll sound a little sloppy. 1.2-1.5 rage should yeild good results (I'm hoping)
