Front End Wiring setup ?

Hey Guys,

While sanding away on my new kick panels I had a thought and would like to see what you guys think.

Front End Setup

Eclipse CD7000 HU
Audison SRX4 4- channel AMP
Focal 165V3E Three way kit (6.5", 4", 1")
Added Focal TN47 Tweeter

I have the three was kits setup on channels one and two on the Audison and the extra tweeters on channels three and four.

I figured the first two channels are taking a heaver load then three and four so maybe I should move the speakers around.

Option 1 - have custom made crossovers made and put the 4" and 6.5" on two channels and then the other 4 tweeters on the other two channels.

Option 2- get another SRX4 and go fully active. Just looked at eBay and not really looking on spending the money unless it's going to really make a different.

What do you guys think I should do?

Thanks
Frank

Ditch the extra tweets, double bridge your amp, and enjoy!

Acutally that sounds like a good idea but what about my sound stage. With out those tweeters it sounded like the sound stage was at HU level. when I added the tweeters it moved up onto my dash.

If you can't live without them then add a little 25x2 amp and just hide it.

true, but then i'll lose tunning control from my deck. I'll try it out and bridge the the 4 channel like you said. If it sounds better i'll leave it like that.

You could use l-pads on the tweets if needed to control output level...simple and effective...and i second the bridged set up!

How do you lose tuning from the deck? Your original configuration had them on their own channels anyway..

I lose tuning with a third amp because right now the outputs for my deck are fronts, rears and sub. I have the fronts and rears on my 4 channel and the subs on my mono block. I have an x-over in the deck for fronts, rears and sub and again for the time alignment if I had a third amp what rca's would they connect to???? I would have to “Y” them off the front channel ones and then when I do TA tuning or x-over tuning it will affect both and amps . I'm doing all my tuning and x-over from the deck.

If you have a better idea for set up, I’d like to hear what you think.

the way I look at it from this point is either I have custom passive cross overs made for the whole front end and bridge like you said. Or get another 4 channel and go fully active which will run me about another $300 on an Audison SRX4.
